Research

The ABS Air Safety Foundation is the only not-for-profit organization that invests in research projects to promote Continued Operational Safety issues that affect the airworthiness and longevity of Beechcraft Bonanzas, Debonairs, Barons and Travel Airs. Past examples include:

  • Participation in the verification of certification of V-Tail Bonanzas that removed speed restrictions and confirmed V-Tails indeed meet airworthiness standards.
  • The ABS Spar Web Investigation, a seven-year engineering effort that resulted in reversing the FAA’s decision to require onerous, costly and potentially damaging modification of Beechcraft carry-thru center sections.
  • Prevention of a second switch-type circuit breaker replacement Airworthiness Directive, convincing the FAA that only switches actually failing operational checks need to be replaced.

Your tax-deductible donations permits ASF to conduct research to protect lives and preserve the Beechcraft fleet.
