Initial Training

If you're new to the specific model of Beechcraft, or you've never completed type-specific training for that model:

BPPP BEST: Your INITIAL Beechcraft systems and techniques-based training

The BEST course highlights the essentials—the systems knowledge and pilot skills most important to mastering your Beechcraft. 25 learning modules, averaging 13 minutes each, allow you to view focused topics quickly across the entire range of fixed and mobile online platforms. Information comes from the Beech Pilot’s Operating Handbook, from other manufacturers and experts, and from ABS’ nearly four decades of experience providing type-specific training in Beech piston airplanes.

BPPP BEST Options:

Essential systems and techniques training for Bonanzas and Debonairs originally equipped with an IO-520 or IO-550 engine --1964 through 2005 models. This serves as your INITIAL course for training in these airplanes, and optionally as an in-depth, systems and techniques-based RECURRENT course if you'd like to update and increase your Beech knowledge and skills.

Legacy Bonanza/Debonair

If this is your first BPPP experience, or you want to refresh and expand your knowledge of your airplane’s systems and how you use them in normal, abnormal and emergency situations, then this is the course for you.  You’ll go through your airplane system-by-system, learning techniques and tricks for getting the most out of your Beechcraft as well as operating it in a manner that promotes airframe and engine longevity.  The BPPP Legacy Course for Bonanzas and Debonairs consists of 10 modules you may take at your own pace, even stopping and returning in mid-module.  A short quiz at the end of each module highlights the most important points of the program.

More BEST courses

New model-specific BEST courses for other Beech models will be introduced over the next year, prioritized by the number of each variant in the flying fleet. An update of the now-legacy BPPP Online program remains available for pilots of airplanes whose BEST course is not yet available. New options for focused, type-specific recurrent training are also in development.

Add BPPP BEST Initial or Recurrent Flight Instruction

Recurrent/Refresher Training

BPPP BEST as an in-depth RECURRENT systems and techniques-based review

You may elect to complete BPPP BEST as a systems refresher, including the four-hour flight training customized with your BPPP instructor to your needs and desired focus areas. See the description of BPPP BEST online and flight training above.

BPPP FOCUS: Shorter, RECURRENT training to build on what you learned in the BPPP BEST course

BPPP Focus recurrent training is a shorter and lower cost way to earn a BPPP course completion certificate and, more importantly, to focus your skills as a Beechcraft pilot. BPPP Focus builds on the skills you learned in BPPP BEST or other BPPP initial training for a recurrent training option that makes you safer and more confident flying your Beechcraft.

Each BPPP Focus course consists of about 1.5 hours of online training, paired with a two-hour BPPP flight syllabus in a dedicated area of Beech operation.

BPPP Focus Options:

BPPP Focus - IPC

The first BPPP Focus recurrent training option is BPPP Focus: Instrument Proficiency Check

Watch for new BPPP Focus recurrent training programs as they become available in the ABS Online Learning Center.

ABS's goal with the not-for-profit BPPP program is simple: to protect lives and preserve the Beechcraft fleet, by significantly increasing the number of ABS members who receive The Best in Beechcraft Pilot Training™.
